No impact on Meridian from regulator's big contract crackdown

Power company says even its existing Tiwai contract would pass the test in a new 'urgent' rule change.

Electricity generator Meridian has poured cold water on the Electricity Authority’s attempt to crack down on damaging big power contracts, saying its “cents in the dollar” deal with the Tiwai aluminium smelter would pass the regulator’s test anyway.
